Huge crowds, great weather, community, entertainment, and events is what Pufferbilly Days™ is all about! In 2017, Pufferbilly Days™ will celebrate it’s 41st year. Pufferbilly Days™ has established itself as one of Iowa’s largest community festivals. Held each year the weekend after Labor Day, the 2017 festival kicks off Thursday, September 7th and goes through Sunday, September 10th. The festival features the trademark parade up Story Street, live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, a classic car show, mud volleyball tournament, kids activities, arts and crafts show, bingo, BBQ contest, a football tailgate party and so much more! What’s a Pufferbilly you may ask? Pufferbilly Days™ got its name from Boone’s railroad heritage. Puffing Billy’s were small steam train engines that were commonly used around coal mines. The city of Boone was platted by the railroad in 1865 and retains its strong ties to the railroad tourism and transportation industry. Be sure to mark your calendars and plan to join us in downtown Boone for yet another unforgettable Pufferbilly Days™, September 7-10th. Give the Boone County Chamber of Commerce a call for more information at 515.432.3342, or visit www.pufferbillydays.com. See you in September!
